Best Garlic Shrimp on the N. Shore ? We like Ted's Bakery just past Turtle Bay on the mauka side and have a slice of chocolate haupia pie for dessert. YUM! We also like their crab salad sandwich!

Nico's near Lowe's off of Nimitz is on the harbor near the fish market. Excellent seafood fetucine! We are very excited that Nico's is coming to Kailua to be in the old Pinky's site on the canal near Aikahi!!
Check out the Big Kahuna's (not on the water but very near the airport) for lunch. Used to be located on Puuloa Road.) Pizza huge BBQ sandwiches now located in a strip development on Paiea and Koapaka in the shadow of an overpass. The woodsmoke BBQ fragrance when you walk in the door makes you hungry. Free parking. Very limited seating. Order by phone sandwiches/ pizza for the wait for the plane, if you can wait. 833-5588
Gordon Biersch ! garlic fries. Fresh ahi! Signature brews. Varied interesting dinner menu. HPU dorms and classrooms are going in so it should become a vibrant student atmosphere. On the water watch the ships come in. at Aloha Tower Marketplace. We watched them film Hawaii 5-0 while we were there 5/'12.

Italian cooked by a real Italian, Try Mediteraneo on1279 S. King. I had the seafood risotto with saffron. It was the closest thing to paella since Spain. : ) Wonderful. Small whole in the wall place. You can actually carry on a conversation at this restaurant.
Auntie Pasta's on Piikoi St. Good Italian food.(parking can be difficult so plan ahead.) However, if you drive by on your way to Ala Moana for shopping and there is an open street parking space and its lunch time. Excellent chowder and sandwich. Grab that parking space and enjoy lunch! $$
La Mariana's, old tiki bar and grill on the water at the Marina, off of Sand Island Road. It is like the old restaurants you would find in old Waikiki. This is a remnant of the past. Use your Siri to find this place. It is definitely off the beaten path. Two blind people often provide music.
Mexico Lindo - Mexican food. $$. Very noisy at the evening meal. Take out works! in the Shopping center with Times Grocery.

Best nachos on the water in Hawaii Kai goes to Kona Brewing Company As the sun sets and the lights come on around the boat harbor. It is a superb setting.
Best nachos in Waikiki for people watching goes to Jimmy Buffets. Huge mounds of chips with cheese sauce (not real cheese) :( Sit on the pool deck and watch the parade go by down below on Kalakaua.
Best nachos with a view of the Ocean goes to Lulus also in Waikiki across the street from the zoo.Enough nachos for two. The view through the coconut trees of Queens Beach, the surfers and the ocean.

Try to be seated by 5:30 p.m. to enjoy the sunset. If you get a Friday evening reservation stay for the 7:30ish fireworks show. Pricey but incomparable Waikiki views. Validated parking.
